Father's Day weekend

We had a very busy Father's day weekend this year. It all started with a cookout at my Father's house to celebrate him. We grilled steaks on the grill, they were delicious, and we spent the entire night outside on the porch talking and watching the men play hourseshoes. The weather was perfect and Adelyn loves the outdoors. When she is really fussy we take her outside and 9 times out of 10 she completely stops fussing. Anyways she is sitting up by herself really well now so I decided to let her play in the grass a little bit, and this happened.

I think she enjoyed herself :) She was even a little bit upset when I put her on a blanket instead she kept inching towards the grass. We got her some toys and the blanket was enough then. Notice she is holding an A and a P.

On Father's Day we woke up late so my plans of making Michael breakfast were thrown out the window. Below is Addie's outfit for the day. I knew Michael would insist on her Daddy's Princess onesie but I felt to was too casual for church (not like that would be a problem at our church but still) so I added a tutu to dress it up a little and the result was this adorable thing.

Here is Michael's fathers day gift from Addie. I was inspired by a pintrest post and put my own spin on it. I used an ink pad to stamp her feet on the inside of the glass. It makes it look like a watermark over the wording. As for the actual paper I just used card stock and different fonts in word to make it look interesting.

For the grandpas and great grandpas I also was inspired by a few things on pintrest. I saw the tie tags last year during fathers day and really loved them so I knew I wanted to recreate them this year. I used scrapbook paper for the ties and white card stock for the collars. I just cut them out and hot glued them on the mason jar. Since I was already stamping Addie's feet for Michael's gift I though why not personalize them so I encorperated a handprint on the lid. To make it easier I did the handprint on card stock and then cut out and hot glued it to the mason jar. I found the your an amazing dad tags as a free printible from here  <http://snickerplum.com/blogs/blog/father-s-day-tag-free-printable> I then filled them with m&ms and ta da! I am really pleased with how they turned out.
Father's Day was great. after church, we went out to lunch with my dad at Carolina Ale House. After that we headed to Michael's grandparents where we spent time with his dad and Papa. We spent time out by the pool and had frogmore stew (aslo known as a low country boil) and watermelon for desert. We all left stuffed to the gills and tired. It was a great but busy weekend. Michael is an amazing father, and it was such a pleasure to celebrate this weekend with him. It melts my heart to see him with Adelyn. He loves her so much and gives so much of his time to her. I am so thankful that my daughter has a father like him. She is already daddy's little girl and I would not want it any other way!
