5 months

Dear Adelyn,

I am sure that every parent says this, but I really can not believe how fast you are growing! You weigh a whopping 16 lbs (probably more at this point). You are such a happy baby. You smile all the time and laugh at funny faces and oh are you ticklish!

I mean really who can resit that smile? We sure can't! This month you have really started "talking" or rather yell at us. We can't understand what you are saying, but you say it with such enthusiasm it is impossible not stop and listen. Really you are so loud we have no choice :) Daddy is convinced that you can say daddy already. I of course think it is wishful thinking on his part, but there is no doubt you are a smart one. You already have the entire family wrapped around your little fingers, but it has been that way since the beginning.

You started trying some solid foods this month. We started with cereal first and moved quickly to veggies. Carrots were your first food. Boy do you love to eat! We have only found two foods you don't like so far peas and peaches. Your face is priceless when eating them. I think daddy even got it on video. You are fascinated with watching others eat, and you get very vocal if you are not allowed to eat at the same time. I mentioned the yelling earlier didn't I?

This is your first bite of cereal.

you loved the carrots too!

Watching you grow and change is so wonderful, but it makes me sad at the same time. I love seeing you hit milestones, but at the same time am sad at how fast it is all slipping by. I will hate to see this stage disappear. Right now you have such a personality, you love to play, and you sleep though the night. What more could a parent ask for? We are truly blessed by you and every moment we get to spend with you. I am told all the time that you are adorable. Many people including my students say you look like a baby doll and I have to agree that you are the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. Being your mother is the most challenging job I will ever have but it is one I cherish everyday. I am counting down the days to summer. The days when we will get to spend all day together. Right now I am cherishing every moment and sealing as many kisses as possible :)
